What Working with Vespera Looks Like

Every Engagement Produces a Document

You leave with a written posture note, assessment, or focused response — not a memory of a conversation that happened once and was never recorded.

Senior Handling Throughout

The consultant who agrees to your engagement is the same person who reads your materials, conducts your sessions, and writes your deliverable.

Proportional to the Question

We offer three engagement types, priced to reflect their actual scope. We do not bundle services you do not need or encourage engagements larger than your question warrants.

ASEAN-Specific Knowledge

We focus on the markets where Malaysian firms most commonly operate — Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam — and on inbound movement into Malaysia from those markets.

Candid Where It Counts

If the data does not support the direction you are considering, we say so in writing. Our usefulness depends on the quality of the read, not on confirming what you already want to do.

Discreet by Design

Client information is treated as private. We do not reference other clients' situations in our work with you, and we do not use your engagement to build visible case studies.

Expertise

ASEAN Market Knowledge That Is Actually Grounded

Cross-border consulting work in ASEAN is easy to claim and harder to demonstrate. Our focus is narrow by choice: we work on the markets where Malaysian firms most commonly move and where we have built real familiarity with regulatory conventions, operating structures, and the practical texture of doing business.

We do not describe ourselves as experts in markets we do not know well. If a question touches territory where we cannot add clear value, we say so before the engagement begins.

Regulatory landscape analysis specific to target market
Operating structure conventions (representative office, subsidiary, JV considerations)
Distributor and partner convention notes appropriate to sector
Talent cost estimates and cultural notes for in-country lead
Shortlist of credible local counsel or advisers where relevant
Written deliverable agreed at outset, not shaped after the fact
Scope documented before work begins
Timeline stated and maintained
Early notification if complexity affects schedule
Working sessions structured around your team's availability
Process

A Clear Process Before the Work Begins

Each engagement type has a defined structure: a scope of work, a stated timeline, a specified deliverable. We do not improvise the shape of an engagement as it unfolds. You know what you are receiving before you agree to proceed.

If something arises mid-engagement that would expand the scope, we stop and discuss it. We do not absorb additional work silently and adjust the invoice afterward.

Value

Pricing That Corresponds to the Work

Our fees are fixed and stated in advance — RM 920 for a Coordinate Note, RM 1,950 for a Bearings Review, RM 3,100 for a Cross-Border Entry Engagement. These do not vary by the size of your firm or the market in question.

We have priced our engagements to be accessible to Malaysian SMEs and mid-market firms, not only to large enterprises with retainer budgets. The investment is proportional to a real advisory need, not to a firm's ability to charge.

Distinctive Features

What We Offer That Is Less Common

The Posture Document

Our Cross-Border Entry Engagement closes with a market posture document — a structured written assessment your team can return to, share internally, and build upon. Not a slide deck. A document.

The Coordinate Note

A single written answer to a specific cross-border question, delivered in two weeks, with one follow-up call. Useful for founders weighing a particular structural decision without committing to a longer engagement.

The Bearings Review

A mid-term check-in designed for firms already operating across a border. We review activity, sit with your in-country lead, and offer three to four adjustments — no more — where we believe the case for change is clear.

Partner Shortlisting

The Entry Engagement includes a shortlist of candidate partners, counsel, or distributors in the target market — names we believe are worth approaching, with notes on why. This is unusual in written market entry advisory work.
